A GIANT Thank You!

Ok guys so I just wanted to post a BIG GIANT THANK YOU to Buzznet and of course to Sara for suggesting me as a Buzznet OG. I'm really really honored that someone would think something I've done is worth notice, and I'm really blown away! I actally found out via text that I had a suprise waiting for me on Buzznet, so I quickly signed on at the library and found the link. It literally took everything I had to not jump up and down and clap my hands (at the risk of being escorted out of the study area for being a nut case. lol!) BUT I just wanted to take a sec and say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I'm hoping to keep bringing you concert photography, interviews, and to restart my "artist of the week" blog. Please be patient with me though if my content dosn't come as quickly as is should (I'm in my last year of college and busting my bum to graduate early.....AHHHH STRESS!). Well, I'm off to classes and work but just wanted you to know this had made my week (possibly my month....unless I win the lotto or something of course). PEACE OUT YA'LL!!

Trust me, on the sunscreen...

My Mom Says I'm A Catch

I am perfectally imperfect, I cannot read mucis, cook a five course meal that dosn't include easy mac or at least a few things that come out of a box or can, or do long devision. I offten wish I could spell better but quickly give up and just look the word up on google. I am offten a hot mess that's running around like crazy to get to whereever I'm going on time. I'm six months out from college graduation with no solid post-grad plans yet. More offten than not I'm too lazy (or just dont care enough) to wear makeup, straighten my hair, or put on my glasses in an attempt to "represent Wet Seal (my current job) well".....their words not mine when I was asked to try harder with my makeup and "maybe wear high heels more"......are ya kidding me? I'm fed up and frustrated with the responce "we're not hiring a girl"..that is NOT a legitimate answer! I still listen to and love Hanson, and more than likely always will. I'm anal retentive and obsessive, I love to make check lists, to do lists, and maps and WILL get anoyed if they are tampered with. I have "emotional baggage" or whatnot...but what can you expect after being in love for five years and then it just ends? I cry durring sad movies or sad songs....offten. I freak out and hide on my counter from spiders untill someone else comes by to kill it. I sometimes care too much about what other people say to bring me down and too little about what the ones I love and care for say to build me up. *deep breath*

I love to sing in the car and drive like I'm too cool for school (with or without a passenger). I'll listen and honestly care about your bad day, break up,or bad hair cut. I'm VERY persistant and will offten get what I'm going for or at least die trying. I love my family more than the world it's self and am surounded by people that love me back no matter what. I still have friends that I've had since I was a kid and we are still nerdy and fun. I like to sit on my floor in my underwear and paint...usually while eating icing from a can. I day dream offten...then make lists of how to make those dreams come true. I'm not easily embarassed but I can be shy. I LOOOOVE to give thoughtfull gifts for no reason other than the fact that you were on my mind. I still love and resepect him as a friend and cherish the times we spent together, they were amazing. I love to dance like a fool and I dont really care if you're looking. I plan to one day own the COOLEST haunted house ever built and have people from all over the world come to get the crap scared out of them. I like to try new things but sometimes get frustrated when I dont understand what I'm doing. I take long road trips to see bands I seen tons of times before and enjoy it just as much the 12th time as I did the first. I love meeting new people and making new friends.

Nothing Compaires To.......A Night Out On The Town!

So last night after work I got to go out with my two sisiters and one girl that works with us at the office (Heather). I guess I've just been so busy and stressed lateley that I haven't really spent much time with my sisters and I kinda forgot how much fun we have together. We started the night at a resturant called "Cena", its like an upscale Mexican resturant and on Friday nights from 5-7 they have three dollar apitizers and two dollar drinks! The food was really great and shockingly I even loved my sangreias (even though I'm not much of a wine person). The best part was giggling with my sisters and Heather at the semi-cute waiters everytime they walked by.

Next we went to the new outdoor shopping center called The Green. I was the only one that had never been there since I'm not usually around this area. The Green looked exactally like Easton which is a giant shopping center in Columbus that my friends and I love to go to all the time (I guess The Green was designed to look like Easton btw). It's a really neat place that has tons of cool "city walks" and stores and live bands, it looks like it's own little town inside a town. There is even an apartment complex inside it but I guess it's insanly expensive and the waiting list is really long to get a place. I was snapping pictues away like a total torrist (even though I live like half an hour away, lol) and my sisters were just laughing at me. We decided to eat dinner at this resturant called Bar Louie becuase they have great deals and specials. I was suprised becuase when I ordered my drink my waiter didn't even card me! That's deffinantly the first time that's ever happened. We had a blast there (I got a bbq sandwitch that was delish!). And their drinks there are soooo cute, I got a chocolate drink and they even spell "Louis" out in chocolate on the top.

After eating and walking around for awhile listening to a man on the street playing saxophone we headed off to a less crowded sports bar to go sing some karaokee (sp??). I LOVE going out to sing with my sisters because they're not scared to get up and sing infront of everyone so they make it really fun. The place wasn't busy at all so there was no waiting list to sing so we took full advantange. I sang Bloodhoud Gang with my sisiter, then she sang I Got You Babe with my other sisiter, then she sang I Will Survive all by herself. lol! We spent about two hours or so just laughing and having fun before we called it a night and all went home. Moral of this story? Enjoy the time you spend with your family!

Warped Tour Indy! July 31

Ok guys, so this is the end of an era, my last warped tour of 2008. BUT it was by FAR the best experience of my life to date! So first off the day started out kinda insane beause me and my friend Becky decided to get up at 5:45 to start making some cookies that we had promised to various people at warped (FTSK, Jac, FF5, etc). Now that in mind you have to realise that we didnt even get home and get to bed untill like 3am the night before becuase we had been at the warped tour after party in Cincinnati. We were kinda dragging behind but we managed to finish all the cookies, shower, and get ready, and get out of the house on time (I think we made like 60 or so!!). HOWEVER all of our rushing didn't really get us much becuase about half an hour away from the venue we got lost in crap-nowhere Indiana and had to spend an extra hour trying to find our way. We ended up having to pull over at a gas station and just ask for help. Well, we finally got to the venu around noon and we were already hot (my car's AC just broke) and just ready to chill out and relax.When I first got there I gave my first set of cookies to the lovely Julie (she works at the guest list) and she was SOO happy about it! She's pretty used to seeing me by now so my names not even on the list anymore, she just has my passes ready, BUT since it was my last date on Warped for the summer she upgraded me and my friends to VIP All Access and told us to have fun. :  )

So as soon as we got inside we checked the list to see when everyone was playing and saw that we had some down time to relax from out stressfull drive and chill out in the shade but first we decided walked over to say hello to some of my friends at the Kevin Says stage and drop off their cookies. Then we went over to chill with the guys in Family Force Five and help them blow up ballons and set up. While we were back there I saw Xanadu's "legit" bracelet and was like "I'm totally buying one of those today!" and he just smiled and took his off and said I could have it if I liked it (I havent taken it off yet! lol!). After helping the guys we went onstage to watch them perform and to dance with them durring their songs. As always their show was SUPER high energy and amazing. The band playing after Family Force Five was We The Kings so we decided to stick around and watch them too (we even got to hang backstage with Travis and watch him warm up!). We stuck around for part of We The King's show and then decided to leave but not before we said goodbye to FFF5 and got an invite to hang on their bus durring the after party. After that we set out to find Jac and give her her cookies and give her come company. We had to look for her tent FOREVER becuase somehow we kept missing it. Once we found her tent we gave her her cookies and talked to her for a bit and exchanged phone numbers so we could meet up and go watch FTSK (I still really really need to buy her "ruthless" and "brutal" ones becuase they're like seriously the cutest things I've ever seen).

By then we decided that we wanted to go over and visit our friends at the Hurley.com stage and just chill and watch some shows. We spent a good hour watching shows, drinking icees, and sitting in the lounge where it was cold before we head over to see FTSK. When we got there we went to get backstage with Jac and security wouldn't let us back without the bands permission so Caleb had to give them the ok. The show was awesome but I cut out early to go watch my other friends band perform and to wish him a happy birthday. As always his set was INCREDIBLE but I'm still super sad that that's the last time I get to see them for a long time. Then he had to go and take a shower and do a signing for about a hour or two so we took the oportunity to walk around and buy some merch. By that time my friend Chris was free and wanted to hang and so we headed over to their bus to chill with them untill Motion City Soundtracks set (we promised Matt we would make it this time). It was SOOO good to get to see Chris and the guys and catch up with them since I havent' seen them since the take action tour months ago (I got to see Matt's new tattoo of his world of warcraft character! Sooo neat!). While we were back there Becky and I were kinda just grinning to each other because the whole time two busses over Travis McCoy and TAI were chillen. Then it was off to see Motion City Soundtrack play, it was super fun and I'm sure we made fools of ourselves becuase Becky and I were dancing around like nerds just laughing and having a blast (I'm pretty positive people must have thought we were drunk or somthing).

Motion City Soundtrack was the last band of the day so it was time for the after party and just general awesomeness. First we stoped by FF5 booth while they were tearing down to make sure we had their bus number right and told them we would check up with them later. On the way backstage we stoped and helped them carry some of there merch back to their bus. Once we got to the after party me and my friends kinda split up to hang with different people and I went to hang with Chris and the guys. Sadly they had to leave at 9:30 to go do a thing at Dennys where they have to eat with fans (Chris kept texting me about how bad it was. lol!). When they left I went to hang with my friend Andrew for his bday and chilled on their bus for a few hours talking and listening to music before he decided to go to sleep. When I got off the bus two of the friends that I met up with there had gone home and one was nowhere to be found so I walked over to the FF5 bus and chilled with Xan for an hour or so talking about music and touring and his wife and such before I headed out to walk around and he went in to go to sleep. Well I was just walked around the party for awhile and watched Gabe DJ for awhile and then started looking for someone I recongnized when I saw William Beckett and walked up to him and started talking to him. He was SUPER sweet and remembered me and Sarah (xblanksface) from the day before (he actually said she was super adorable!). So I hung out with him, his cousin, Ryland, and Alex S. for awhile chatting before my friend called and I was ready to leave and they said goodbye and went to play poker. SADLY I dont have pics of the actually after party b/c I didnt' want to look like a total creeper taking pictures of them since I had taken pics of them the day before and in Cleveland *cries*.

So by the time we lef the party it was around 2 am and Becky and I were both super ready to go home and crash out BUT being the people we are we got lost on the way home too! lol! We found our way pretty quickly though and set off. We also pulled over at THREE different exits that had Taco Bell signs to eat and ALL of them were closed, very lame! By the time we actually got home it was about 5:30am and all I could manage to do was take off my shoes and fall into bed. SO, that was PRETTY MUCH my day but I WILL tell you one thing, the COOLEST part of my night isn't in this blog b/c I pinky promised someone (who may or may not be in a band whos name involves some kind of snake and some kind of transportation) that I wouldn't blog about it. BUT, I'm a woman of my word so I will keep quite (other than to Sarah who I've already spilled my guts too of course). LOL! Hope that dosn't leave you in too much suspence. So thus ends my Warped Tour 2008 and I'm SUPER sad to see it go (however it is nice to get some sleep finally and do nothing for awhile).

Warped Tour 08, Cincinnati

Ok guys so I just got back from Warped Tour 08 Cincinnati and it was pretty much one of the best nights of my life thus far! Not even kidding here folks, it was AWESOME! I'm pretty sure I'm going to be in awe of this night for weeks.  First off I got to meet up with fellow Buzzneter and AMAZING photographer, XBLANKSFACE. She is sooo sweet and nice and we had a total blast.

SO, I started my day by running some interviews with bands like The Academy is..., All Time Low, Forever The Sickest Kids, and Cobra Starship (check out my Warped Tour Cincinnati album to see the pics and the videos will be up soon!). I had a cool time getting to chat with all the bands, it was really laid back this year and it didn't feel like the interview room was crowded like last year. PS-I pretty much LOVE Bethany who runs interviews at Warped, she hooked me up all day with great interviews and she was a super sweetheart to chat with! The interviews went great and I even got to catch back up with some bands I've worked with before (Jack from ATL layed his leg across my lap and bit the edge off my Buzznet sign! lol!).

While we were backstage we saw two of the guys from Family Force Five and they walked over to talk to us. While we were talking I mentioned that I had danced on stage for them last year and NaDaddy went "THATS where I remember you from!". So they asked me and my friends if we were comming to see there show and that we should come dance with them agian. I also got invited to hang on stage with Motion City Soundtrack but sadly I was running an interview durring their set so I said I would do it tommorow. After the interviews we got to walk around and promo Buzznet quite a bit and talk to some new cool people, I even saw Jac Vanak (who I ended up hanging with later at a party, and I promised I'd hang with her tomorrow when I go to warped again). I also had a good time trying to find pictures of things to fill in my hunt for Buzzmob (one more day left to search!). Next it was off to see Family Force Five play and hang with the guys. When we got there it was still pretty early so we just chilled out with them and helped them blow up their ballons (which they gave us each one signed by all of them to thank us for all our help). And while were backstage Travis from We The Kings was standing around and came over to chill with us! As usual Family Force Fives set was AWESOME because they're so hyper and fun and it was super great to watch my friends dance on stage (I didn't dance with them becuase I had gotten off the stage and by the time I went to get back on it was just too crowded,  agian something to do tomorrow).

After the Family Force Five show I kinda figured that the night had come to an end since the shows were all over BUT we got invited to the after party BBQ that was hosted by All Time Low. The after party was sooooo fun, I spent most of the time hanging with Jac and Caleb from FTSK (who ended up giving me his bracelet when I had to leave, I gave it to my friend Becky). I also got to spend time with my current crush, but sorry I dont kiss and tell (here's the ONLY hints I'm giving, he's in a band on warped tour, he's adorable, and he's got tattoos. LOL! Not narrowing it down much hu?) Carrie, you know who I'm talking about girl! So I'm not going to take the joy away from Sara of telling you where SHE spend HER time at the after party, but trust me, it was really really awesome and you need to go to her blog ASAP and check it out! Well, that's pretty much the lot of it but let me throw in my highlights

-Got to hang out with some cool new friends and catch back up with old ones
- Getting personally invited to hang with Motion City Soundtrack and Family Force Five
- Chillen at the after party with Caleb and Jac
- Going to a party where GABE was the DJ
- Meeting Sarah!!!
- Using an "All Access Pass" most of the day that was loaned to me by a friend*
- Getting to do it all again TOMORROW!

So I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting some details but it's super late and I'm waking up really early tommorow for Warped. If anything new comes to mind I'll do a Part Two of this blog! PEACE YALL!

Cleveland Warped (July 17th)

Ok guy so I just finally recovered from my AWESOME time at Warped (although my voice still kinda hurts from having to yell to be heard over the music and my friends are still sporting the best sun burns). Well, lets just start by saying the day had a rocky start becuase my really really good friends band texted me that morning to let me know they had droped off the tour and gone home! Needless to say I was pretty much crushed and had low hope for the day cheering me up. BUT the moment I got to Warped I felt a lot better and and couldn't wait to see the bands! First thing I did when I got there was find my friend Brooklyn (stage manager for Warped) and head off to see The Academy is... The guys were really great and my friends were super pumped to get to be on stage for their set, my friend Becky actually jumped on me and kissed me! I love the new song About A Girl, it's really catchy and got stuck in my head for like hours.

After watching the set we decided to stick around backstage and wait to get an autograph for my friends sister who wasn't able to come. The second William Beckett came out my friend latched onto my arm and made a bee line for him CD in hand. Needless to say William is a doll and will talk to you for ages (he even remembered me from last summer when I worked with them!) We got to chill with all the guys other than Mike Carden becuase he was super hot and wanted to bounce to take a shower. When we got home and gave Jen the autograph we was SUPER sad that she couldn't go, but she did feel much better when we told her William had put her pen in his mouth (hehe).

After running around for a little while and trying to figure out who was playing when we started handing out all of our Buzznet stuff. Overall the responce to the stickers, buttons, and cards was GREAT, some people immediatly knew what Buzznet was but the people who didn't were really stoked to hear about it. A decided to take pictures of people with their Buzznet gear (because everyone loves pictures of themselves) and tell them to go to Buzznet and search the warped tour date to find pics of the themselves, everyone LOVED it! The only bad moment I had handing out my stuff was when I went to hand some girl a Jeffree Star card and she grabbed like five of them and ripped them out of my hand giving me some wicked paper cuts and making me a super angry panda for about 10 seconds. Then I was off to use my sign with the bands! Everyone really liked the sign and a lot of artists knew right off the bat what Buzznet was. Shwayze actually added "in" to the sign to make in Buzzin and tried to hand me some of their Buzznet cards, I was like "Yeah I just handed out like 100 of those!" and they were like "Girl we've seen you everywhere, you're like a whirlwhind!". Then I headed off to the From First to Last's tent to say hi to the boys and get a hug from Matt and Chris (who is LAME because he fell asleep all day and didn't texted me to hang untill like 6 and I had already left...it's ok, I still love ya'll). If you ever see From First to Last ask them how their puppies are doing because they have the CUTEST dogs with them on the tour (Brownie and Elrick).

Most of my day was spent backstage of the Hurley.com stage sitting in the trailer to stay out of the sun and heat and watching the great bands! I didnt' really get to see much of Forever The Sickest Kids set like I had planned becuase they were playing right after Evergreen Terrace and I had told Andrew that I would watch their set (which kicked like five million levels of ass! they're awesome!). So, by the time I got to Forever The Sickest Kids it was so packed I couldn't even get to the stage to get out of the mob, but I'm no too upset because I'm going two more times. After "watching" Forever The Sickest Kids play I went to Evergreen Terrace's merch booth and sat in one of their merch bins and hung out with their merch guys Caleb while they did their signing, I felt kind of bad though because tons of kids were trying to buy stuff from me and I was like "I dont work here, I dont know where that is.....you have to wait for him" *points to Caleb*. hehe! If you're not planning on seeing Evergreen Terrace play, then you should because they're great and you wont regret it! I spent the better part of the next half hour freaking out becuase I couldn't find my phone (turns out I had left if on the equiptment truck). By that point one of my friends was feeling really sick and was ready to watch The Higher then bounce so my friends took my camera and went to see The Higher and I opted to hang with a certain super hot adorable guy whos digits I now have (Carrie, you know who!).

All in all the day was great! Got to run around meeting new people and catching up with old friends, taking pictures like a mad woman, rep buzznet, see some awesome shows, and laugh at my friends sun burns! The whole way home we blasted our music and danced around the car singing. The best part of this whole experience? The fact that I'm going two more times and get to do it all over again!!

Artist of the Week (Week Six)

Artist of The Week- Meiko

How I discovered her- Probably the lamest story ever but she kinda found me when she friended me on Myspace. lol!

My initial reaction
- Well honestly I didn't have high hopes becuase mose of the bands or singers that friend me on Myspace arent all that great, but I decided to give her a shot and boy am I glad I did! Her voice is so smooth and puts me in the best mood.

My current addiction- Right now I'm in love with her song "How Lucky We Are". Even though the sogn is intended to be a love song it makes me think of my friends and how lucky I am that I have so many great people in my life that I love! That's the song I'm hooked to now but to be honest you cant miss with any of her stuff.

Artist of The Week (Week 5)

Artist of The Week- Xcrippledhope. Thats right, this week it's not a music artist that gets featured! Insted this week I'm doing featuring Xcrippled hope because I love his YouTube videos (he expreses songs in American Sign Language)

How I discovered him- When I was younger my mother was a sign language interperator for deaf students. The language always interested me and I grew up learning bits about it here are there from my mom or from her students. As soon as I got into college and I saw that my school had an ASL program (something my high school had lacked) I knew that I wanted to join up. One day in class my teacher showed us some videos of songs espressed in ASL and encouraged us to go on YouTube and find songs that we like in ASL, and thats how I found his video of Green Day's "American Idiot"

My initial reaction- I really liked his videos right from the start becuase they combined two things I love, music and sign language. My favorite thing about him is that he has a lot of videos of songs that arent found elsewhere in ASL or are harder to find. I contacted him once through his myspace and he was very friendly and informed me that is is HH, or "hard of hearing".

My current addiction- Well my favorite video of his still has to be "American Idiot" but I have been watching "Iris" alot because I really love that song.

Artist of the Week (Week Four)

Artist of The Week- Kate Voegele

*Me and my lovely roomies with Kate*

How I discovered her- My roommate Em came into the house one day flipping out about a free concert that was going to be going on at the student center, and being myself I'm down for any free shows so I decided to tag along with my two roomies (Sam and Em) to see the show. I didn't know much about Kate or her music but the name sounded familier enough.

My initial reaction
- The first thing that I noticed about Kate was how tiny and adorable she was. The entire night she was laughing and having fun performing. Her voice was so beautiful and becuase she was playing an acoustic set that night it was easier to understand the meaning of the songs since you could hear her voice not being drown out by instuments (all of her acoustic versions of her songs can be found on YouTube or at Target, I enjoy the acoustic versions the best).

My current addiction- The acoustic version of her song "Wish You Were". This song makes me cry everytime because....well, if you want the story of me and my ex read my older blogs. But this song is truely lovely and somewhat cathartic for me.

Atrist of The Week- Forever The Sickest Kids



How I discovered them- I first discovered this band when my friends Becky redomended them to me to check out about a month ago, then I went and saw them live at the AP Tour when I went to interview All Time Low. After watching them perform live for the first time I was hooked!

My initial reaction
- The first thing that struck me about this band was their energy level! I love when you can tell a band loves doing what they do and you can totally see that in them.

My current addiction- I'm totally addicted to the song IDKAYBICHTD. Once I finally memorized how to say it. lol!

Artist of The Week (Week 2)

Atrist of The Week- Augustana





How I discovered them- Last year while living with my lovely roomie Megan she had Boston as her ring tone and after having about ten seconds of the song drilled into my head everytime someone decided to give her a call I finally deided to look them up.

My initial reaction
- The first thing that got me hooked to them was the opening piano in Boston, then his chill voice roped me in for the long haul.

My current addiction- Their new song "Sweet and Low"! After Boston got played to DEATH I was worried that they would not come out with another song that I could find myself hopelessly addicted to, but low and behold they come out with Sweet and Low (and let's be honest, I would TOTALLY let their lead singer hold me down sweet and low. hehe)

Artist of The Week! (First entry!!)

Hey guys! So I've decided that I need a new project in my life, not something too overwhelming like I usually get myself into, just something new and fun. So, I've deceded that I'm going to do an "Artist of The Week" and try to share with you some music that I love. I'm going to try to update every week, or at very least every other week (but Artist of The Every Other Week just didn't sound as good. hehe). SO, here is my very first entry, I hope you all enjoy it, but love it or hate it please give me some feedback (yes, I'm open to both positive and negative) becuase I'd really like to know if anyone is going to bother to read this. OK, here it goes!!!

Atrist of The Week- Gregory and The Hawk


How I discovered her- About a year ago while trolling around on YouTube I ran across this video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=nLMDpCVkp_g).
After watching it no less than 100 times in one day I decided that I HAD to know more about this "Gregory and The Hawk" person.

My initial reaction
- From the very start I was completely hooked by her mellow voice and her beautiful lyrics. I think what sets her apart from other artists is her stripped down, raw style of music, it's all about the feeling that you're lead to by her voice.

My current addiction- Latley I've found myself addicted to her new song BlameQui. I just feel like she puts into words everything I'm feeling right now. Her songs about love, live, and loss are absolutley beautiful

Take Action Tour

Well, I went to the Take Action Tour yesterday and it was really great! All of my interviews went really well and I loved chillen with the boys. I did somehow get roped into giving back massages to lots of the guys in the bands, but I made them pay me back in beer. lol. The best part of the night was From First to Lasts dogs, Brownie and Eldrick. they were running around the tour bus and were super super cute! My next tour with be the Alternative Press tour in April so now I can take a bit of a rest. YAY!
