How I discovered her- My roommate Em came into the house one day flipping out about a free concert that was going to be going on at the student center, and being myself I'm down for any free shows so I decided to tag along with my two roomies (Sam and Em) to see the show. I didn't know much about Kate or her music but the name sounded familier enough. My initial reaction- The first thing that I noticed about Kate was how tiny and adorable she was. The entire night she was laughing and having fun performing. Her voice was so beautiful and becuase she was playing an acoustic set that night it was easier to understand the meaning of the songs since you could hear her voice not being drown out by instuments (all of her acoustic versions of her songs can be found on YouTube or at Target, I enjoy the acoustic versions the best).
My current addiction- The acoustic version of her song "Wish You Were". This song makes me cry everytime because....well, if you want the story of me and my ex read my older blogs. But this song is truely lovely and somewhat cathartic for me.
Parting Words- From, of course, "Wish You Were" I've seen your act And I know all the facts I'm still in love with who I wish you were It ain't hard to see Who you are underneath I'm still in love with who I wish you were And I wish you were here
PS- I havent gotten ANY comments on any of these journals so I'm not sure if anyone is reading them. If you read it PLEASE leave a comment, just a "hello" will be good enough. Thanks!
How I discovered them- I first discovered this band when my friends Becky redomended them to me to check out about a month ago, then I went and saw them live at the AP Tour when I went to interview All Time Low. After watching them perform live for the first time I was hooked! My initial reaction-
The first thing that struck me about this band was their energy level! I love when you can tell a band loves doing what they do and you can totally see that in them.
My current addiction- I'm totally addicted to the song IDKAYBICHTD. Once I finally memorized how to say it. lol!
How I discovered them- Last year while living with my lovely roomie Megan she had Boston as her ring tone and after having about ten seconds of the song drilled into my head everytime someone decided to give her a call I finally deided to look them up. My initial reaction- The first thing that got me hooked to them was the opening piano in Boston, then his chill voice roped me in for the long haul.
My current addiction- Their new song "Sweet and Low"! After Boston got played to DEATH I was worried that they would not come out with another song that I could find myself hopelessly addicted to, but low and behold they come out with Sweet and Low (and let's be honest, I would TOTALLY let their lead singer hold me down sweet and low. hehe)

Parting Words- the rain is gonna fall the sun is gonna shine the wind is gonna blow
the water's gonna rise she said, when that day comes, look into my
eyes, no one's givin' up quite yet, we've go too much to lose
SO, what do ya think? Are you addicted to them too?
Ok guys, so Warped Tour is right around the corner and you KNOW So.Rock.Scene will be there to get you some great interviews and footage. But we also want some help from you guys! Please please please give us some questions to ask the bands, and if your question is chosen I'll ask them AND I'll thank YOU in the credits! That's right, YOUR question will be asked to the band (granted that's one of the band's we're working with). We will only pick a few questions but to be considered all you have to do is submit ....
1) A question 2) What band you want to ask 3) You name, town, and state!
Well, that's all for now, but I cant wait to hear what you have to say!!
ps- to submit a question for consideration you MUST be one of my Buzznet friends, so PLEASE feel free to add me!
Hey guys! So I've decided that I need a new project in my life, not something too overwhelming like I usually get myself into, just something new and fun. So, I've deceded that I'm going to do an "Artist of The Week" and try to share with you some music that I love. I'm going to try to update every week, or at very least every other week (but Artist of The Every Other Week just didn't sound as good. hehe). SO, here is my very first entry, I hope you all enjoy it, but love it or hate it please give me some feedback (yes, I'm open to both positive and negative) becuase I'd really like to know if anyone is going to bother to read this. OK, here it goes!!!
Atrist of The Week- Gregory and The Hawk
How I discovered her- About a year ago while trolling around on YouTube I ran across this video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=nLMDpCVkp_g). After watching it no less than 100 times in one day I decided that I HAD to know more about this "Gregory and The Hawk" person. My initial reaction- From the very start I was completely hooked by her mellow voice and her beautiful lyrics. I think what sets her apart from other artists is her stripped down, raw style of music, it's all about the feeling that you're lead to by her voice.
My current addiction- Latley I've found myself addicted to her new song BlameQui. I just feel like she puts into words everything I'm feeling right now. Her songs about love, live, and loss are absolutley beautiful
Where you can check her out- http://www.gregoryandthehawk.net/ http://www.myspace.com/gregoryandthehawk
Or catch her live- If you're in the area I would strongly encourage you to go see her live!
